interestedwatcher 0 Posted June 30, 2019 Long time member on another Replica forum, new member here. I own one Gen Rolex, a 6075. Box is the PM box, the inlay and crown are gold. Dial has a nice even patina. A little bit of wear on the back The crystal is bit old I really like the Rolex 16750, or even 16710 The watch needs a good clean, but Im not sure how to do that without potentially damage the watch in some way haha. She runs well, good power reserve, but a bit fast (about 30 seconds a day).
RussP 22,137 Posted June 30, 2019 Lovely watch. Get a replacement crystal and it will be even nicer. What caused the pitting to the case back ?
interestedwatcher 0 Posted June 30, 2019 I'm not entirely sure, maybe someone using a steel case back remover?
black263 228 Posted June 30, 2019 Damn, that watch has taken a beating.
interestedwatcher 0 Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) That will happen over 69 years (I think it's called Patina if you want it to add value!) It needs a service and a clean, but not sure who to take it to. Edited June 30, 2019 by interestedwatcher

interestedwatcher 0 Posted June 30, 2019 Well that's good advice, and when I say 'not sure who to take it to' I meant do I take it to RSC, or try and find an RSC qualified watch maker.

hanski 40 Posted June 30, 2019 That’s a nice watch! Going gen, I’d want a solid gold Rolex too. You should hop on Vintage Rolex Forum and show it off there and ask for recommendations. They’ll guide you to some competent vintage Rolex watchsmiths. Good luck and keep it as original as possible.
Theviking 197 Posted June 30, 2019 Really lovely. Hope to see more when it's cleaned up. Wear in good health.

Even the 'regular' Rolex forum may be able to assist https://www.rolexforums.com/ I'm a member there. This was my first vintage Rolex........and I'm not stopping now................. interestedwatcher 0 Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Thanks guys! I'll get on the Vintage forums. I bought it from the second owner (who was gifted it by the original owner) so its nice to have those documents / history on it as well. Lovely datejust, they can be had for a really decent price to. black263 228 Posted June 30, 2019 Just keep it away from Rolex. They would replace all the parts with new and charge you a fortune for doing so.
