hanski 40 Posted July 8, 2019 And another genstein project, this time an Air King Date 5701. Gen dial, gen case set, gen crown, ETA 2824-2, Raffles DWO, aftermarket hands, end link, and bracelet. These are fun and “affordable” projects. You can find standard issue Air King and DateJust case sets for reasonable prices along with gen dials. The unfortunate implication of the three franken projects is the movement. While an ETA or Sellita is a great movement it requires different dial feet positioning. So dial feet get cut. Luckily it’s easy enough to re-solder feet on (both now for the ETA and later for a gen movement if that ever happens). Having completed a number of these now, I’m finding they are handsome watches and the smaller size is classic and stylish. It might not be the highly sought after sport models but these are good watches and great projects to create a highly gen franken watch Anyways, enjoy!
