Nstirton 0 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) Hi all, A recent purchase from the AliExpress sale that was on last month. This watch featured on a "Top 10 Chinese Specials" youtube channel I watch (Just One More Watch, check em out). Have been eyeing up a Speedy for a while, figured this might scratch the itch - similar build/look/feel at a fraction of the price. So what are the headlines: Movement - RGA685 Quartz Case - 316L Stainless Steel Crystal - Saphire Dial - 44mm Thickness 14mm Strap - 20mm Water Resistance - 50m (despite saying 100m on the dial!) Price - Amazon £200, Aliexpress £120 (I paid about £90 in the sale) The Good Overall impressions are amazing! Clearly this is no Speedy, but for £90 you're getting 85% of the look. Dial has lovely applied batons at hour markers, dials are fully functional (3pm is 24 hour display, 9pm is minutes for the Chrono). Pushers are solid and I actually quite like these mecha-quarz style movements. Quartz is a refreshing change - never need to set after sitting in the drawer for a week! Crystal is beautful, maybe my favourite feature. Lume is terrible on all watches, but i'd put this on par with my Seamaster 300, it's actually very pretty. Clasp is clearly modelled on the Omega one too - not quite the same "snap" to it but it stays on just fine and easy to release. Some nice attention to detail with the signed crown and detail on the caseback. Quite like the Reef Tiger applied logo actually. The Bad No screw down crown, so I won't be taking this near water any time soon. Watch dial claims 100m water resistance, listing claims 50m. Absolutely expect it to be the lesser of the two! Strap is average - not good, not bad! ......That's it! Overall I'd give the overall package a solid 9/10. Looks great, is practical and functional. I do like that it's clearly not a Speedy, but doesn't necessarily claim to be. I'm amazed that you can get this quality for £90. Of course i've only had it a month or so, but have no reason to suspect it wont keep time or last. The watch came witha catalogue of other Reef Tiger waatches - clearly their entire range is effectively homages - but at this price I'll definitely be keeping an eye on these guys. Enjoy the pics!
