Titan moon-phase

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know or have had any experience with this watch?

I'm interested if it's truly a full working moon-phase watch or it's just a 24h rotation indicator

What is your opinion?

Thanks

Look like the classic day/night but after some digging, this company produced a lot of quartz with fully operational moonphase, so could very well be one of those

Give us some extra context about how you’ve come to this particular watch.

One of those photos appears to originate from long ended eBay sale from India so I’ll assume both might be of similar origins and potentially a mish mash of parts with reprinted dials.

Edit: it’s an Indian brand started in ‘84 producing watches from ‘86. They have a range of over 1500 relatively cheap fashion watches on their website!

Titan is an Indian company owned by Tata, who own about a third of the Indian economy. They are considered a premium brand in India - some of the Tata Consulting guys I've worked with sport Titan watches presented for long service awards.

Better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick I guess... but only just.

They only give them out when the stick sharpener is on vacation

Here's one that I purchased when I visited back in 2011/12

Yes, I have this watch. It is a true full working moon phase watch.

I have been using this model for last 20 years. Still perfectly working. I have at least 10 more watches ... all Titan brand, but this one is the best of all, and I mostly use this watch.

Since this is already 20 years old, and I like it so much, my wife is very keen to purchase another watch with similar functions. So recently we made a thorough search in the market, but unfortunately Titan has discontinued this model. They still have 2-3 models of true moon phase watch, but these models do not have all the other functions. So many functions housed in such a sleek body !! I am really surprised that they have discontinued this fantastic model.

Thank for the update.

I received the watch and yes it is a fully functional moonphase.

Now i just have to remove the seconds hand cause it'll make it more cleaner and beautiful looking.

It is a great watch

Great that you got one.

But ... curious to know ... how did you get it?

It originated in India, but even we do not see it or any similar model of Titan anywhere in the Indian market !!

One suggestion. Please do not remove the seconds hand. I am sure you will miss it later.
