My collection so far

Recommended Posts

Dr Fun Socks

Hi all, been collecting watches (nearly all reps) for a couple of years now. Probably had at least this amount again but sold them up to this point, as im sure we all have. But for one reason or another most of these are my keepers so nows the time to share :)

Group shots

306659-B4-420-A-4-E14-9-C60-A9-D685-DCF0

1-A717-B92-337-C-4380-BB9-D-F27987-ADAF1

8995-F84-A-4-E4-F-443-C-905-B-AA490-ABC9

Boxes are hillwood on the left and a german unknown brand winder on the right. Anyone with a chs rolex rep will understand why a winder is worth its weight in gold.

A. Lange & sohne

82-E7-D00-D-9416-4-A98-B45-D-C4-AB44-EA6

Unknown model: Where to start? Dual time, dual split seconds, all of which functions which surprised me! Unfortunately i screwed up the keyless and havent sent it to a watch maker but it still runs. On an orloff green gator strap.

Audemars piguet

I like AP, who doesn’t!

1-E7-CEEA6-9139-4-B10-A31-E-58-CD08-E326

Royal oak offshore las vegas: Im not a huge fan of all black watches but this one really took my fancy. Real DLC coated, 2xar, slimmed pinion, mikey date wheel, slimmed tachy, vic strap.

B988-A093-21-DA-4-B9-B-8-F48-6-B58214-F2

Royal oak offshore pride of mexico: I hadn’t even seen one before but it popped up on m2m on rwi and i had a thing for green straps at the time. limmed pinion, mikey date wheel, slimmed custom tachy, donnerix strap.

6-F5-D2-AC0-2044-4609-B0-C2-CEC3221-B1-D

Royal oak stainless: my first AP and i liked it, Jf V2 (best dial in my opinion), new movement because the keyless messed up and its as cheap to buy a new movement and drop it in than to get anyone else to fix anything!

627-AFBEA-0-D7-B-494-B-8-CD1-ABC23-E6232

Royal oak rose gold: i liked the blue one so i got this too :) jf v3. I dont have much luck with miyotas in AP’s, the main spring snapped in it so i nicked the one out of the blue dials old movement!

1527-BF3-B-AF41-4837-A225-54-BFA557-AD30

Royal oak frosted 15450: After i managed to fix the other two i was feeling cockey so i brought this advertised as needing repair. Turns out it needed a new movement but luckily i was pretty good with that when it came to it!

Breguet

E58-FDCB7-0-C91-4492-9884-91-F550-D639-F

7057: My most recent purchase. Been after one for a while and aflop listed it with a real gator strap so i went for it. Fantastic looking! After a week it stopped working but by voodoo and sheer luck i got it going again!

Hublot

FBBC2722-8-D51-43-CF-8-AAA-2-F3-EE139-BD

Classic fusion 42mm: The first real expensive watch i tried on in an AD. I couldnt really believe they handed me an 8k watch to look at but i ordered this when i got home later! JJF

Ingersoll

A5-D459-ED-77-D8-4890-997-E-B05-D9-C0-DD

My second ever watch. Im an engineer so i like gears! Honestly very rarely wear it but its the most expensive gen watch i have and i dont think ill ever sell it.

Patek philippe

B99-BBFE1-60-BE-4566-BFFF-9-D7-D3-D25-E1

5070: Honestly i brought this purely because the movement is hardcore watch porn. Seagull ST-19, if you dont know get to know! Probably the best chrono rep movement available (barring possibly the A4130). On a camille fornet strap.

61-C5-F6-BD-5750-4-D47-B214-47-E42-D41-A

Nautilus: I had the blue stainless before but my blue ap got all the wrist time, this came up at a good price so i got it. BP gold wrapped on a vic strap.

Roger dubuis

I fucking love roger dubuis. I say it a lot but it is the dogs bollocks! It pretty much got me into reps because i knew i couldn’t afford a gen. The reps were crap back then. Now they pretty bloody amazing... check this out! https://puretimewatch.io/rds2019073101.html

69-CE21-C2-6-F7-B-4317-BDAF-4-FAA2075295

Excalibur tourbillon: Look at it! I dont need to explain it, stop reading this dribble and look at the damn watch!

91187846-29-F4-4606-8767-B64877254-B7-F.

Knights of the round table: On my first trip to harrods watch ‘room’ i saw this in the window at the front of the store. I thought id chance it and they only let me try the bloody thing on! 250k sitting on my wrist! Madness! This is the v2 from z factory i think they were called.

Rolex

Got to have a few rolexes. They are the bench mark of a comfy watch.

0-C0-AB1-B8-482-A-4-DFF-A71-C-8148-D877-

Submariner 116610lv: Noob v1. For the price i think its a great watch and cant justify paying 4x more for a slightly better one... very hard to take pics of this for some reason?

A9548-D74-9-B5-C-4693-AA06-DF756387-F21-

Submariner 116610ln: Noob v6s. I lucked out and brought this by accident when i got into reps. Got steaming drunk and snapped the clasp but still works with a crappy gate clasp. Swiss movement and great alignment so id hazard a guess its been through bk’s hands at some point.

49-D6802-D-1-E65-4685-96-EF-A418-AE95-FA

Submariner 116613lb: Honestly i dont even really like two tones but it was cheap and the dial is sweet. Noob v7, swiss movement.

62-D3-EC4-E-2-D3-F-4-AE8-A420-0-F0598-AC

Gmt master ii 116710ln: Probably my favourite rolex rep. I dont know why i just like the way it catches the light. Looks expensive despite costing similar to the rest. CHS movement. Crystal is really good on these for some reason!

A536-B4-AD-A4-AE-426-C-AC85-81276-A16-A7

Daytona 116500ln: After i saw that wanker Alan Sugar with his i thought i wanna be a wanker too! Seriously though dont wear sports watches with suits, no matter how rich you are. Noob v2 with the excellent A4130

I hope you like my little collection, moral of the story? Dont go to AD’s and try on things you cant afford because if your an idiot like me you’ll by the rep just for fun :)

@semperfi55 i know you like a good bit of watch porn :)

Great read! Great collection!

How does the hublot feel compared to the gen? That’s the one I can imagine probably felt no different to the rep?

Hublot is definitely closest to gen of these lot. I wore my iwc Portuguese (white dial blue numbers) to both an iwc and a rolex ad and got complements from both. Got to try on the perpetual in iwc and a white gold daytona in rolex, probably because they took me serious from wearing a ‘nice’ watch. Great looking piece but its so formal but just a touch too thick for me for dress watch wear.

Thanks man i like the weird stuff! Life is all about passing on what you know so others dont make the same mistakes :) i just wish there was someone out there to convince me that buying the roger dubuis double tourby is a bad idea... man i want that watch!

Some real strength in depth in those boxes @Drfunsocks.

Nice diversity in brands  & styles of timepieces, well put together thread documenting the collection.

Yeah probably but what am i going to do with one expensive watch? I dont wear suits enough to warrant a nice dress watch and i could only wear a nice sports watch in the evenings and on weekends. Ive got the choice of 20 nice watches for every occasion! im a happy chappy! Each to their own though!

Royal oak frosted 15450

Oh my.... I've been looking for a 15454 for some time and no one is able to source it. Very envious! How does it look on the wrist? Do you feel the frosted gold effect is executed reasonably? From the pic, I find it alright, but my concern is that it would look 'cheap' IRL.

What's the case diameter :D It might be added on the Tourby Collection List...

I have to agree, the colour scheme here is simple (dull even) but oddly satisfying. Dammit. Why do you do dis.

Thanks for the tag. I've been busy recently so would've missed this if not for the mention.  A wonderful and succint SOTC. I admire the collectors who are able to hone down their collection to a select few; I can't seem to whittle down these buggers!

I've stopped updating mine since March. This has motivated me to start it up again ;)

When you have that many it doesnt really matter because you change at least once a day so they normally die before you put them back on! The ones on the winder i notice go out if time. Hulk is terrible but i messed with that +/- thing on the movement with a clue what im doing...

The lange is just a bad ass watch haha!

The frosted gold looks pretty good man! Doesnt show up the best in pics but its not bad at all in real life. Wears a lot smaller than a 42mm royal oak though so i ended up giving it to the mrs. It just lives in my box haha! Ill send it to you to have a look if you want. Beware theres no rotor because as cocky as i was feeling after fixing the two 15400 all APs are NOT assembled in the same way....

Buy the roger dubuis, buy it now! This is the bbr version so its about 42mm x 10mm and wears like a dream! Theres also the jbf at 46x 14 or so, doesnt have the 2 extra gears on the face but more of a royal oak offshore size.

I only normally whittle down when im forced too, i.e. get drunk, buy a new watch, realise i dont have the money the next day so have to sell something haha!

Thanks man, i toy with the idea of selling it from time to time because i really dont wear it but it is as nice as hublots get. One of the rare reps you can walk into the ad with and they wouldn’t question!
