BADBILLY 115 Posted August 8, 2019 NEW PROJECT- GINGERMARINER MOD In Homage to an anonymous member of the forum I have decided to make another unique timepiece. The following thread will show the progress in detail of the procedure to create another work of art from the BBF, also known as BADBILLY FACTORY . This relatively new factory is located on the serene banks of the famous Cowan Bayou located in THE DEEP SOUTH. So grab a drink or a snack or a smoke and a pancake and sit back and enjoy the next tale as it unfolds..............

BADBILLY 115 Posted August 9, 2019 Here we the watch dismantled in preparation for the plating process, and the movement is safely inside a dustproof case. And another shot a little closer
BADBILLY 115 Posted August 9, 2019 To successfully Rose Gold plate the items, it is necessary to apply a layer of 24k Gold first as a diffusion barrier. This will produce a bit more of the vivid radiance of the Rose Gold tint. There's another photo of the items with the 24k Gold about to go into the rose gold solution. BADBILLY 115 Posted August 9, 2019 Wow, now that just looks STUNNING The Rose Gold is applied now, and there is one small blemish to correct on one of the band links.....not a problem.
BADBILLY 115 Posted August 9, 2019 Here is another view, but I am starting to think this camera isn't showing the color too good, these will have to do for now. Next up will buff slightly and reassemble the watch, but first have to plate the watch hands and dial indices , of which will happen tomorrow At this rate the GINGERMARINER should be 100% complete tomorrow or the day after depending on scheduling.. BADBILLY 115 Posted August 9, 2019 So Far so good, and no I did not remove the bezel or the sapphire crystal to plate the watch. ( considering the principals of electricity , there would be no current passed through non metallic parts-therefore no changes to there physical properties would occur, ) we wouldn't want to create any unnecessary steps to the project. Next up........a really cool thing that just caught my eye...... Wow look at what I just learned how to do
