ARF is ~500USD, Ginault 2.0 on preorder is ~1000USD The upcoming Ginault 2.0 looks really good, but is also twice the price of the ARF? The Ginault 2.0 has, for those unfamiliar: SW200-1 movement Improved Bezel click Ceramic Insert, platinum filled AR-coated crystal Upgraded bracelet tolerances Is it really worth twice the price or should I just stick with ARF or maybe ZZF? I'd rather buy a ZZF or ARF, if not going for Ginault. Ginault beats steinhart in quality in terms of fit and finish by miles also. I had a Steiny and sold it off after a few days. Ginault's 5 digit case with ceramic bezel is what is holding me back from pulling the trigger on an ARF/ZZF but that doesn't sound like $500USD extra... Surely this is just some guys building watches from rolex knock off cases and straps and IWC knock off hands with their own screen printed branding on a knock off rolex face? I perused their website script and it is written in semi mystical prose best read out-loud in the style of Yoda. In my opinion you'd be better off getting a genuine high end fake sub or an oris. In all fairness I've never heard of the brand but; if I met a guy in a pub with one of these and he told me he had paid a bag of sand for it I'd be convinced I could sell him some magical beans very easily! Your're mostly right. Now, his homage watches are very high quality compared to others in the same price point, and is actually water proof, has an authentic sellita movement and tight tolerances. Compared to an ARF or ZZF though, not sure if that's worth a 500 dollar premium. So I mostly agree with you. If a person was against reps, a Ginault would be a good purchase imo. Will it be lost in transit? It has panache, it's been places. However, I like both Steinhart & Ginault and would be happy with either but I have a very low bar.
