Griffo 6 Posted August 14, 2019 Loving this. Not sure I’m keen on it being a quartz (for some reason I’d feel cheated spending so much on a quartz) https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-grand-seiko-sport-collection-sbgv245-with-quartz-caliber-9f82#&gid=1&pid=
Jimmyrich1 1 Posted August 14, 2019 Agreed, to think some of the things you could get for the same price! Mind blowing really
FudgyDocker 3,575 Posted August 14, 2019 I feel the same. Someone was selling a genuine Aqua Terra on M2M recently. It was a beautiful watch, but my brain couldn't justify the thought of spending well over a grand on a quartz watch.
brang1 4,488 Posted August 14, 2019 not cheap, but there is certainly something very attractive about these. Not JUST a quartz either, a pretty high end technical beast
Chixisigma 461 Posted August 14, 2019 $3000USD Wowzers! That must put it up against some heavy hitters competing for similar dollar amounts... Still, a thing of beauty. Cxs

roberto 24 Posted August 15, 2019 Going to be going for the black and yellow SBGV243. Yes, well aware it's a quartz.. Grand Seiko is my favourite by some distance these days.. 9 hours ago, brang1 said: What about this little beauty gold bezel gmt spring drive Yaaaaaessss I have the plain ol' silver one. GenTLe 1,524 Posted August 15, 2019 I like a lot the sporty one in the OP post, I'd have liked it more if it was spring drive. To me the very best of them is still this lovely one:

Griffo 6 Posted August 15, 2019 I've totally overlooked Grand Seiko. Some beautiful watches!
BIG GRUNDY 6 Posted August 15, 2019 There was another article on Hodinkee about the Seiko 5, new branding logo and watch rollouts. They looked nice, rather drop money on these quartz watches at about $300-400, than $3k on this.... For $3k, I'd think I would better, or partially the way there with a spring drive...
