Omega Speedmaster Professional OMF ?

Recommended Posts

FudgyDocker

It's nice, but not the actual moon watch. Just a different version. The proper Speedy Professional ST19 hasn't been available for some time. But yeah, nice watch, solid movement.

Thank you @FudgyDocker,

You would recommend buying the watch ?  The movement looks very nice and the at the price seems like a good way to "try out" a Speedmaster Professional.

I can't recommend something that I personally wouldn't buy. But that ST19 movement is rock solid, and you can't get much better for a hand-wind movement in a rep.

Hi @FudgyDocker,

Thank you for your guidance.  Now I understand your first comment "It's nice, but not the actual moon watch", the OMF watch is a sort of "homage" .  When I look at the OMF and the Genuine side by side they are not close.  https://imgur.com/a/gofpUcD

i.e. the watch is not a 1:1,  fo me that is the fun of the hobby, getting close to a clone.

Do you have any more information about a 1:1 of the Moon Watch ?

Thank you !

Yes, it isn't available and hasn't been for some time. You'll be extremely lucky to find one, even on M2M sales.

Who produced a 1:1 moon watch in the past?

Are there any rep Speedmaster cases that would take a gen dial and movement?

There is no such thing. The Moonwatch has the subdials more toward the center of the dial, but the ST19 movement has them more far from the center.

Nice watch never the less. But for comparison GEN/REP (also nearly all the rep have the subdial at 6 that reproduce the hour hand movement, but that's fixable):

Here’s my OMF I got from Kevin a few days ago. But josh is also a solid TD!

The sub dial spacing kills this for me on all these reps.

Save your money if you like the style this looks great for the money  IMHO

I knew about the subdial spacing going in but was like worth a shot for the money and I'm pleasantly surprised by it.

Sticking with gens the Bulova moonwatch is always a cheaper alternative.

I got this OMF for $450 all in and the Bulova is just $100 more. Hell of a deal!

Man I like homages as much as the next guy, but what I can't ever get down are some of the companies' names...
