hbfishguy 0 Posted May 20, 2011 Hi im new here. Couple of questions. 1) I'm looking at buying an Omega from silix or timeshops.net. What is the difference between the new versions and the old versions, beside $80? 2) What accuracy and duribility shoud I expect? I'm totally new and have no idea. Is +/- 5 seconds per day asking too much? 3) Is an ETA 2824-2 movement good? Is it legit? Thanks!!!!
hbfishguy 0 Posted May 20, 2011 Legit? Mean? I mean is it accurate and durable?

hbfishguy 0 Posted May 20, 2011 Looked at the movements link, but no word on accuracy. Looking at Bond Watch and Planet Ocean What should my expectations be for these?
Luthier 1 Posted May 20, 2011 Looked at the movements link, but no word on accuracy. Looking at Bond Watch and Planet Ocean What should my expectations be for these? Any mov't, even 21J, could be well calibrated by watchsmith, even up to 5 seconds a day in case of ETAs. Some replicas are calibrated, if the dealer has a watchsmith, like Mary or Robert, others could be up to a minute per day. Some genuine watches could have 10-20 seconds per day accuracy. If you care so much about accuracy - quartz is your watch.
