Franken Rolex 1501 OP Date Blue Dial

Recommended Posts

hanski

Just wrapped up a franken Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date with beautifully patina’d blue dial. I wish I could have caught the subtlety of this dial in the pictures but alas I could not. The blue color of dial this age frequently begin to flake. I suspect it’s something to do with the ingredients of the blue paint. When you get the dial just as the deterioration begins it’s wonderful.

The build is gen case set, gen dial, gen Sellita movement, aftermarket hands, aftermarket bracelet.
