My Latest Aquisition.....

Hi All,

Two-tone watches are extremely polarising in the watch community, I must admit that when I got seriously into watches around 2014 the last thing on my radar was a bi-metal piece.

Over the years that followed I have seriously changed my tune. Last year I was fortunate to pick up my Birth Year Day-Date & I decided that I would supplement that piece with a reference 16713 GMT2 when the right one came along.

I had to sacrifice some great pieces to partially finance this but since I made the decision I haven't looked back & I'm really enjoying this as part of the daily rotation. Despite being 15 years old this 2004 Y Serial this was really well looked after & has all of the boxes, paperwork & even the original swing tags etc (one features the original sales price of £3730).

My plan moving forwards is to pick up one gen next year (finances allowing) & ultimately to have seven pieces to rotate around.

Overall as far as Rolex is concerned I've decided I'm a 4 & 5 digit man!

A few pictures below to mark the occasion:

Oh my oh my

Congrats!!!

Love your photography which shows the two tone in all its glory

It’s always interesting to see how collecting tastes evolve. I went from classy old-money dress watches to blinged out watchslut in zero time.

Does that mean no more reps?

@semperfi55 Cheers Mate, I love this community & have reps in my weekly rotation (I don't plan going all gen for a few years at least).

Weekly Rotation:

2 - Navitimer (G)

3- 16713 GMT (G)

4- Day-Date (G)

5 - TC 16610LV (REP)

6 - IWC 3714 (rotate between white dial/gold numerals & the Jackie Chan) (REPS)

7 - Space Dweller/1680 (REP)

@SCShrekCheers Bud, for some reason I struggle to capture Subs & GMts but these give a good idea of the piece for posterity.

Some people say I'm not a fan of two tone (and they'd be right), but that is stunning! And what a stable it joins; great collection. I'd love a group shot......

Beautiful watch @MAJ75, congratulations. The 16713 is the best looking two-tone watch going I reckon, never mind the best looking two-tone Rolex.

What everyone else said.....!  Truly gorgeous.  Did you do any refinishing or 'refreshing'?  Or did it actually live this long in mint condition?
