Mr_B 2,401 Posted September 15, 2019 Looking to get a silver dress watch for special occasions, the main reason I'm going steel over gold is longevity, I don't want to buy another one in the future. I've found three i like, Would you pick one of these or would you choose another?
nivka 5 Posted September 15, 2019 They’re pics of gens. I’d look at the corresponding reps and choose based on that. Personally, I went with the zf JLC master ultra thin moon and can’t recommend it enough

I like the moon phase, does yours function properly?

Yeah, the moonphase is fully functional (not that I use it lol)
FudgyDocker 3,505 Posted September 15, 2019 I can't pick any one of those 3, to be fair. I like them all, equally. Certainly wouldn't go for that moonphase shit though. Too pretentious. Who really gives a shit what phase the moon is in, assuming that it's even correct!

cvp3 2,103 Posted September 15, 2019 Bulova Super Seville Automatic 1) Gold versions on decent bracelet go for under $250 bucks / Silver versions, especially with unusually colored dials go up to $500+ 2) Pick the right one and you'll be rewarded with a smooth running 2834-2 movement 3) Will only appreciate from here 4) Looks like a Rolex in a good way 5) Doesn't appear that you're trying too hard and you won't get accused of wearing a rep'

I've also been eyeing up the white faced Rolex Cellini Date recently. Worth a look.https://www.theonewatches.ru/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=5875&search=cellini&page=2 or for simplicity, the non-datehttps://www.theonewatches.ru/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3390&search=cellini&page=4 (Other TDs are available)

Werewolves Midnight Hunters Hippies (they like to charge their crystals during a full moon) Vampires Astrologists Astronauts Nut-jobs Gingers, probably get moonburn if it's too bright and they're not covered head to toe in thick clothing The list is endless really. KarmaToBurn 1,419 Posted September 15, 2019 Of those I would go with the Lange because of the no date dial.

Mr_B 2,401 Posted September 16, 2019 Think I've made my mind up and il probably get the Lange, as I like the simplicity & OXF version is under $300 from a TD, was a close call between that an a JLC, I've overspent this month so may be an Xmas treat to myself
porschespeedster 19 Posted September 17, 2019 Yah i think go Gen if you want the longines, lots of vintage options available there. Wish we could grab a closed-back quartz rep of the Lange!

Bertus15 15 Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) I'm personally totally in love with the JLC Master Ultra Thin Small Seconds. There are Reps of it based on the Seagull ST17 . Seagull makes decent movements. Another you might want to have a look at is the KZ Factory Vacheron Constantin Patrimony, which at 6.8mm thick is one of the thinnest Reps I've seen.
