What's the difference between a 2836 & 2824

I'm looking at two different upo's from different trusted dealers. Cases look the same - which movement is the best?

Yes, 2824 is thinner, due to the slightly different date operation (personally I prefer the 2824 there, simpler and troublefree) and the hour wheel is held in by a bracket on the 2836 which is slightly more efficient than the loose hour wheel with dial washer and dial holding it in of the 2824. The rear of both movements is identical with the gear train parts being interchangeable, as are the bridges, winding mechanism and auto wind.

Since nobody mentioned it, the 2824 is date only and the 2836 is day/date movement.

ETA have many movements but they are all designed for a different reason. Size, width, complications, whatever. Not sure any one is 'best' they are just suited for different tasks. As they are used in millions of watches, they are all pretty reliable if assembled correctly and serviced periodically.
