SCShrek 494 Posted October 9, 2019 I have a GMT 6542 coming from Kevin and I noticed in the QC's that the bracelet is the folded link variety with out the big logo clasp. Given that this 6542 is repping a bakelite insert and was only produced from '54 to '56, was that a possible bracelet choice for this watch or should I opt for the 7206/80 with the big logo clasp? Ruby has 4 different models of the 7206/80 on the site but I have no clue at the difference. Any help is appreciated. Thx
repmaster1234 49 Posted October 9, 2019 If you’re going for a “factory stock” watch then a riveted bracelet or a folded link jubilee would be the period correct bracelet - however a large proportion of 6542 owners have replaced their bracelets with folded link oysters or newer jubilees over the years due to the tendency of the old ones to stretch out or just plain break. I personally don’t think a folded link would look out of place
