Oh, NOW I get it...

Recommended Posts

SB56667

So I've been haunting this forum for six weeks now. I've ordered two reps from Mary and have been looking for a third. I kept running into this talk of Panerai obsession, and just didn't get it. I'll admit I have pretty conservative/old-school tastes: Breguet, VC, PP, plus the dressier, more classic IWCs, Langes, and Glashuttes.

Then last night I was looking for new straps for my new gens, and following the recommended dealers' list to Gunny Straps, I saw this:

Then this:

Bloody hell, do I ever get it now.

I'm doomed. I've just got to order my first PAM rep before the glare from the laptop screen wakes up my wife. And then a strap worthy of it.

Wish me luck!

Deja Vu...this happened to me 2.

I was well whats all the fuss about ?...then I saw a Pam Brooklyn bridge posted on here..quick twitch of the eye, rapid entry to wallet.... boom..ordered..I used to have a sense of self control, until this dark side forum turned me into a skint blathering vegetable...

ENJOY...

I am still waiting for mine to turn up....

regards

opus9.

The ones on timesshop.net come with a fantastic leather strap in three colours...look under pam005 or pam318

Like you I didn't get the Pam thing either. I bought a low end Pam on a lark and that's when I caught the fever.

Enjoy the hobby, it's a blast.

I love lightbulb moments like this!

That's exactly what it was. I saw those pics on the Gunny Strap site, then 12 hours later, I passed a mirror and, and even though I was wearing a PP, I saw a Paneria on my arm. After that, there was no hope for me.

Thanks for the strap links -- I'm liking the look (and prices!) of the German ebay shop.

Pics to come...

So here's the lovely 183 on order from Robert:

And here's the strap I picked from StrapCode:

When everything arrives, I'll post photos of the real thing. Now let's see if I can get back to the rest of my life for a few hours!

Yup - that's how I got started too. Didn't get 'em, then took a fancy to a 111h - figured I'd try it to see what all the fuss is about. 15-20 PAMs later...
