NCRich 13,748 Posted November 8, 2019 So @fatarms asked me a long time ago if I'd help him with a 5513. Having had a particularly bad time building something for him before I was wondering what monstrous set of parts he had accumulated so I told him I would. Well, this one went a lot easier than the last. Parts list: Athaya crown and pearl, Singer dial that must be refurbished gen, Sternkreuz XS303.472 plexi, 2 mm bars, 5513 insert from Cousins (had to sand the inside to fit). I countersunk the crown and retapped it, lumed the pearl and aged the hands a little bit. Had to put new feet on the dial. Spent a lot of time on the case getting it to look as much like this: as I can. Got it to here: Polished the bracelet edges and oiled it. Feels really nice. I glued the plexi on with UV cement. This has to be the very best plexi for this case. Perfect size and look. After greasing and sealing everything it should be water resistant. Can't test it. Some pics. Really a nice feeling watch. PS, I still hate the Athaya crown. Not the way it looks but the way it works.
