I Wanted an Oversize, Extra Chunky Strap.....So I made one

Recommended Posts

billywhiz

Needed a new strap.  Standard straps are way to small for me.

So armed with a few tools, new bit of nice leather I came up with this. - 26mm full width, 26mm brushed buckle and around 6mm think so quite chunky.  Wrist size, well made for me so circa 9  wrist.

Here is the original Pam strap - in fact this is a standard length pam strap so will give you an idea of extra length.width

Yup, you're right. That is one big-ass strap! Not bad at all for a DIY effort, well done :)

Decent strap, but let's see your arms. Are you a body builder? Obese? A giant?
Either way :ttiwwop:of your arms.

Nice job on the strap and some great photography!

There's a few of us here that are in the club. I've made many a strap and bought many an extra link or two or three.

Well done Billy! Suits the watch perfectly.  I'd love to hear more about how you did it and if you make any more.

That's how the Tank Solo looks on me. I wonder what a Datejust 36 would look like on you.

Made another one for the 44mm - not overly feeling it at the moment.  so may do a tan/vintage colour military style for this too.

24mm full width with 24mm buckle, circa 5mm thick this one.

Against original strap to show new length, thickness

I tried to replicate the colour of the blue canvas original.  I'm undecided :)

Great work on the strap.

The same watch looks like a dinner plate on my wrist!
