Soccer2010 13 Posted March 25, 2020 (edited) I have an opportunity to buy an older Rolex from a friend of a reliable cousin. A little damage near 6 pm. What to check to confirm? Picture attached. Edited March 26, 2020 by Soccer2010 updated pictures
tribefan 6,768 Posted March 25, 2020 Not an expert, others are. 1. Lousy picture, and only one. Need more HD pics. Dial straight on, caseback, crown straight on, bracelet, clasp. lugs with bracelet attached, back removed with high quality photo of movement. 2. No box and papers = immediately suspect 3. No picture of the movement is no deal for me. YMMV.
Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted March 25, 2020 Yes ask for the papers and ask if he is happy to go to a jeweler to have the caseback removed to check the movement.
paccbet 7,176 Posted April 13, 2020 Seem to me it’s a gen ladies watch... if that’s what you’re after of course
Realism 72 Posted April 13, 2020 I suggest you blur out part of the serial numbers.... Would not want scammers etc to get access to those to scam online... Looking like it is a gen... R series puts the production date at around 1988. That bracelet stretch mark is commonly found in watches from that timeframe due to the hollow end links. Finally, the gold parts of the watches (bezels, mid links) are real gold... Replicas, even then, unless super high end, do not use real gold...
