Balls to that, it’s a good reason to wear more without fear of getting them smashed up... well it is for us proper grafters anyway, haven’t worn this in years!!

I got one of these from Lawrence IIRC - something like $130 with A2836 movement?  Bargain!

Am gutted, though - the strap keeper has broken and the B&R retailer on the High Street seems to want to see the watch and/or serial number before I can order a Gen strap....

I think this was from Toro for about 140usd, got it same day my boy was born, he’s 7yo now :D

tell him it’s a surprise gift for your Dad and you can’t get hold of it cos it would ruin his day.

I think I did try similar ("It's for a friend...") but no luck!  I will have to try again...

Thanks for that link, I hadn't seen that site!  The shark skin option looks pretty cool (although $80! lol) :)

There's a thread for Genuine Watches each month, if you are interested.

Look for it and post there.

Best wishes !!

But you can still post Gens in this thread, don't worry. In fact, I want to see some pics of that Gen Bronze Bucherer please!

Another Day, another Queen.

This one was purchased when I just didn't know better:

That is a really good question and to be honest I don't know :). Maybe because I am a bit clumsy and all my watches have scratches all over them ... I don't worry about Omega (my 1st high end watch ....memories:)) or the Tissot but this one is still like it just came out of the box :)

Pick up the Rep of it and do a Gen v Rep review!!! Then you can wear the rep and protect the Gen! I had the Rep and it's decent (but it didn't suit me so I sold it). I don't have any nice pics, but this was it - not a million miles away from Gen:

The Rolex morning watch followed by the VSF SMP for the afternoon (before I'd set the time again)

64Z3c.jpg 6wgEI.jpg

The SMP is on a new rubber strap that @Howitzer made me aware of, this one:

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/788515051/the-newest-2020-omega-seamaster-300?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=20mm+seamaster+rubber+strap&ref=sr_gallery-1-16&organic_search_click=1&frs=1&col=1

We were hoping it was the same one the TDs sell, (but cheaper). It has the updated hole shape - but it's not the same sadly. It's not bad quality wise, but the keeper doesn't have the notch that holds it in place like the TD ones - a non issue for me. However a big issue is the fit - it sits too high, way above the lugs. You don't notice it when glancing at the watch on the wrist, but if you look a tiny bit closer, it's a pretty shocking fit. As below:

64jyX.jpg 64z4i.jpg

That said, it's still not bad and I'll be keeping mine on the watch.

I bought a rubber strap for my VSF from the Gate, quality is great and all but wouldn’t fit.

As in you couldn't get it on at all? Or it was a bad fit like mine?

Intresting

Still enjoying my IWC.   Giving the local craft distillery a helping hand.   Was Nominated best distiller tasting in Australia in 2019.   Its different as its infused with lots of roots, like Calamus, Angelica, Orris and Liquorice.   Very earthy.

oh there is definitely junipers too, plus some other botanicals.   This is not traditional gin.   Its a like vintage 1675 and newer iterations. There is a place for both.   Google Ink Gin.   Its blue, and turns pink when you add the Tonic.   Pretty cool.   Sad for those of you who are only rooted in one dimensions.  Pun intended.
