I was wondering if it depicted a pair.......

Jesus, you see a pair of boobies, I see a cute animal.

Goodness knows what Rorschach would make of that!!!!

It's Bakelite (well, plastic that looks like Bakelite). The 6542 GMT had this plastic insert with lume painted on its base, so the numerals glow.

thanks!   Bakelite is a form of early industrial plastic, made by the reaction of carbolic acid with formaldehyde.    It was quite brittle and I think Rolex had a lot of problems with it and hence replaced it with metal.    crystal is plastic as its keeping with the vintage.  Yes, I do like it a lot :)

I've been working on setting up my guitar rig in the basement so I can practice while my daughter naps (I'm out of work due to Covid so I might as well catch up on practice)

Can someone teach me how to embed 'Coming out of the closet' memes? No particular reason. I just want to improve my IT skills.

Hi, Group!  Welcome to Tuesday; and, remember: be safe, be healthy,  be patient. Our ancestors did in 1918-1919.

Today's ride is this 39mm ROLEX EXPLORER I purchased a number of years ago and worn occasionally. An entry-level Rolex, it has the cleanest appearance of most ROLEX watches, imho.  dave:

Intresting

This is the 6542 with the darker more "Coke" than "Pepsi" bezel.  I reckon I can harvest these Romas by the weekend

Here's a bulletproof Parnis sterile handwind I bought from local Rawbaws ages ago. I dropped a fiddy dial in it and mounted on one of my homemade Chicken Foot leather straps. Heavy OP logo stainless buckle.c7af386f229aef162758ba05d39c4d35.jpg

Nice example mate. How do you like it so far?

Looks like you've been wearing plenty of others since receiving it : )

Since I got mine onto NATOs, it's become my biggest go-to watch, especially since COVID.

Classy but not too blingy, doesn't catch too much attention but still totally respectable.

I find that essentially, it ticks the box of flying under the radar while still being a super nice, 'feelgood' piece.

My wrist was between any decent size for the bracelet adjustments on hand : )
