So this Happened Yesterday

Hi guys, I was out running errands yesterday and notice the dial of my Deepsea was hanging a little low in the case. Thought no big deal, a movement ring screw came loose....

No big deal until looked a little closer...

The screw heads snapped.

So the question now is how to remove a broken screw??? Would it be better just to drill and tap new holes?

Thanks for your help.

When it happened to me I used one of these: https://www.amazon.it/10-pezzi-Circuit-Carbide-gioielli-incisione/dp/B073P4PQLZ/ (one of it) mounted on a Dremel from the other side of the hole and basically it "screwed out" partially the broken screw enought to be taken with tweezers or a plier and unscrewed.

I also used a supertiny screwdriver once: those screws aren't very strong so a tiny 0.8mm sharpened screwdriver can be slightly hammered and create a small slot in the remaining part of the screw, permitting to unscrew it.

But I'd firstly remove the movement and dial from it!

PS: why a Panerai rotor on that 21j???

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I have removed broken screws and bolts before but nothing this small.

And the rotor came with the watch. It's about 8 years old from Mary. Supposed to be the first edition with the 23j movement.

After a long weekend of work, I have successfully removed the broken screws from movement ring.

Thanks to GenTLe for the advice. Now to find some screws :bounce:
