The Everest "Expedition" is a nod to the Smiths A454, a member of the Everest family but also known as the "Antarctic" because it was used by Sir Vivian Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary during their Trans-Antarctic expedition 1955-58

This lockdown is putting our circadian rhythms to the the test, you and I seem to have drifted a full 12 hours apart despite being in the same time zone :D

That bezel is in desperate need of a Cape Codding! And maybe even a Martha's Vineyard....

You know you're getting old when watches that still feel like a recent purchase are discontinued and beginning to look vintage and patinated :D

Very nice indeed  . .  . ..  one of Steinhart's highly rated Premium Watches . .  . .  .  . :thumbsup2:

Needs more stuff on the dial.

I agree.

A GMT function and a trilogy of chrono-sub-dials would have added an interesting touch to an otherwise dull dial.

How's the quality on this? I'm thinking of getting in steel - thx!

This was a purchase from Reg a few years ago and is just a simple quartz version but, as always with Reg, very solid build.

I'm looking at one on Da Gate - also quartz, it must be the same factory seeing as they appear identical and there is a rose gold choice. I can't imagine there would be competing versions - thanks for the info, just wanted to be sure it wasn't total junk. Here's the LINK .

That's actually a nicer version!

I really wanted it in SS but Reg only had rose gold left so I thought I'd try it, plus the date wheel on mine is in black.

Never wear it and will probably end up in M2M?
