Popperini 18,019 Posted June 28, 2020 Flushed with the (almost) success of assembling my never-ending GMT project this morning, this afternoon I also finished another project that’s been hanging around for months. It’s a “Captain Willard out of Apocalypse Now” Seiko 6105-8110. Basically a cheap eBay copy with a dial and hands replacement. The whole thing’s been aged, and the insert’s had an extreme ghosting job. It saw some things in ‘Nam, man... (the price of a Phong case). Yeah, that shit will haunt you forever. I’m not convinced the ghost insert works tho. I’ve ordered a new one and I‘ll go at it a little more subtly next time...
