translation “it looked a lot better in the ebay listing, and I couldn’t afford the equivalent rolex, it will polish out...”

This did make me chuckle!

Being serious though (and I could be wrong) but I believe there is a beautiful dial hidden under that shot crystal.

Given a spruce up that piece could be quite the bobby dazzler......

New crystal, or a bit of a buff and it’s good to go

Noting wrong with a little patina. This was one of my Grandpa's watches bought in 1973. I don't notice the wear, except when I try to get a decent shot for the wristcheck thread.

A bit chibbed that, but wait to you see what he does with it - he's tastefully restored a few of my mates 5513s and a pre explorer not to mention my speedy.

If anyone happens to see the finished version, I'd love to see a pic/sales link here.

He was telling my mate about an inspection he done of an M. N. Snowflake for an insurance valuation and the guy ignored advice and sent it to rolex service center who stripped it of any value/provinance after there "replace and renew" policy.

A proper military watch fan.

Very cool.

My Grandfathers Tissot . Much the same, usually looks pretty presentable.
