Akira 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Update: That's what I need 1. 1655 Josh 1:1 case, Asia 2813 2. Gen dial or Ingod44 ebay dial, if I can't find a gen dial in my budget 3. WSO bezel assembly 4. WSO insert or gen insert 5. Hands to fit the 2813......Anyone knows where to get these? 6. 7026 style Rivet bracelet Today I finally, after month of search, bidding and negotiating, paid for all the parts I need for the build. I have: 1655 Asia 2813 WSO bezel assembly Genuine Mark I dial Genuine pepsi insert Genuine 116-25 tropic plexi Genuine 5,3mm crown/tube Hands to fit the DG movement All I'd need is either a Rivet or Jubliee style bracelet, because I don't know if I like the folded one yet. What do you guys think? Cheers Akira
Luthier 1 Posted July 13, 2011 Such a great project, Flo, and... 2813???
Akira 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Such a great project, Flo, and... 2813??? Actually, if you luck out with the late model DG3804 (good chance), do not waste your time on ETA movements for slow beat and having to deal with overlays. The new DG's datewheel's, if you can live with the font, that IMHO look like plausible service replacements, line up near perfect with Gen dials. So to recap 21J's (most likely a DG3804 in a GMT): 1.) Datewheel lines up with gen dial's 2.) Has slower beat. ~ Trying to find a ETA 2846 worth a $hit, then servicing, then dealing with overlays, is probably not worth the effort these days. ~ RA told me as well, it's not worth bothering with the ETA version, because of the datewheel and service. Member X 91 Posted July 13, 2011 Seems fair, and you can always drop one in later if a good find comes up Definitely go with Rivet bracelet though, they are really nice! :P http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...?showtopic=6549

B) http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...?showtopic=6549 Nice, I see you got an early RA built...... If I were you, I'd go for a gen dial though. Akira 0 Posted July 15, 2011 You need to speak to RolexAddict! lol Check Got some responses already on RWG2 Haven't heard from him in a while... How is the racist thai ladyboy whore fucker doing? Pretty good I guess....he was of great help and really pleasant to talk to. I will send the 1655 case to him for re-taping the crown/tube and drilling the lugholes. About pics. I don't have all parts in hands yet. But I will make pictures of all parts and during the build. Thanks for your interest
Akira 0 Posted July 25, 2011 Hello folks, today several parts arrived. WSO bezel assembly + insert. Genuine pepsi insert. Clarks 25-116 tropic plexi. Genuine 25-116 tropic plexi. Genuine Mark I dial. Pic of the lot: Inserts compared, gen insert looks much better, very fucked up but I like the look. Nicely faded. Check the differents on the 4's and 14's Crystals in comparison. Gen on the left, Clarks in the middle, 1655 plexi on the right. With bezel construction Case Flattened caseback Dial, came very badly packed! Tritium mostly toweled off. Scratch at 12' Will send it to Finedd for refinish. Last part I need to wait for is a gen crown/tube. Now I have to figure out how to make the gen crystal fit the bezel construction. Crystal is to wide for the case, and to wide for the inner crystal holder. So need to sand it off a bit I guess. Thanks for looking Akira

Timebandit 0 Posted July 27, 2011 This will be a great watch, preparation is in a good shape. Have you ever tried to ask an optician for the crystal job ? They make glasses the whole day shorter, thinner, whatever. Maybe there is a friendly one in your area. Greetz Uwe
ww12345 0 Posted August 6, 2011 +1 for having JMB fix the rehaut/retaining ring. He is great at doing the machining to make it all come together. Usually, he hangs out at rwgforum; don't know if he's here or not.
