Please re-read the original post. The items are on order. The watch will hopefully look like the one in the pic.....

that one should look nice, it is a gen (1 of only 12) that sold for around $105,000 :)

I'm build up for a crack at it myself. I did 2 test builds already. The final will be with esdee's 3646 case he's making up on HF

I'm not sure if I can help much but let me know if you get stuck

Thanks man :)

I bought a crapload of blue cali 47mm hands from helenarou or someone a while back so let me know if you get stuck

For the hands I just used sulpur from boiled eggs to age the brass after sanding them a bit. You've just got to watch them because they keep corroding for a few days afterwards and you end up with a dull look to the hands. For the next set I'll probably try the egg trick first but I got some fake rust stuff from a hobby store as a backup

Looks amazing. How did you age the dial? If there is a post or forum somewhere that this is discussed in detail, please point me to it! I seems like everybody posts pictures of what they did, but very few people actually explain how they did it. Thanks for putting up the info on how you aged the hands. Very helpful!

The dial is just painted nothing fancy really

On the first pic there is some special stuff done with the indices but I doubt you can make that out on the pic. I'm still figuring that technique out with another dude. We've dropped a wad of cash and time on working it out so I doubt we'll just pony up with a tutorial right away. More likely we'll make and sell them but not at stupid prices like some of the flash dials around.

HF is down?? ;)

rsea - if you have some spare blue cali hands for a 47mm then that would be super-useful... :P :D

I will post up some pics of mine when they're not still awaiting many parts!

WWWOoooooOWWW. I didn't think I liked (created) vintage until I saw this.

I hope it goes really great for you. It looks like an amazing project.

I can't wait to see the actual photos of your work.
