Member X 91 Posted June 22, 2011 haha! Story of my life! I had one package from Athaya lost, he re-sent but must have sent the wrong movement rings as they don't fit, and I might finally get the parts I need after about 3 months! lol I think I can then actually build, although I still need to sort out movements, some H3 for movements I already have, do some more luming... dingle 57 Posted June 24, 2011 Dial has arrived. It is nice and now I am afraid to try to add anything to it...... note: dial is not affixed yet....just for pic purposes ...............still waiting on hands......:( sorry for the BB pics I have removed the molnija movement from it's case. I followed the tuto found here: How to uncase a molnija movement Now the question is, what stem do I use to fit the brevet crown that came with the silix case and also the molnija movement? The stem that came with the original movement is way to long for the silix case. Also, Does any know where I can get a vintage 26MM buckle only?
KeNnY 29 Posted June 24, 2011 nice ! you can shorted the stem just cut it, and then fillet it to the required size
dingle 57 Posted June 24, 2011 nice ! you can shorted the stem just cut it, and then fillet it to the required size I did think about that, but this has a screw on head. Perhaps it will still work with epoxy?

Perhaps it will still work with epoxy? yes, no problem with that. When I replaced screws. I just take the stem and unscrew it, then I will shorten it to my recommendations, and when screwed in to other crown, I use jewellery epoxy.. Just wait for a video, how I have built my DSSD yesterday, it is showed there on video.. somehow video tutorial I will post it today

Member X 91 Posted June 24, 2011 I think you might need a modded molnija stem? Check out Andy Schuhren's NOS 3603 thread on HF (search for 3603 and it should come up) - in it he offers modded stems for them for €/$15 I think. I can't remember why they need to be modded, though... lol
Aren 27 Posted June 24, 2011 Nice dial. Looks great. Can you get a non-vintage buckle and help it with a touch of muriatic acid for a second or two. Perhaps the sauce?
