JohnG 41 Posted June 6, 2011 Baldrick posted this one, it went downhill after an argument, ended up in Sec8, but a lot of people liked it, so here it is, reposted. If you want to discuss what happened to the first one, or just argue, that's cool, but use some common sense and go to the first one and do it there: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...showtopic=15644 POSTED BY BALDRICK I don't know about other members, but I'm fed up with the current menu that most of the cafeteria suppliers keep serving up, I realise that a lot of the 'just received this wonderful DSSD from LayMaryRobLawrence, you guys won't believe the quality' posts are from noobs who have just begun to enjoy this hobby, so their enthusiasm is understandable, however, even among hard-core long term enthusiasts on the forum there seems to be some sort of complacency, a grudging acceptance of 'well, that's all that's available on the menu', so let's just roll with it, I'd love to see some NEW stuff come along, especialy stuff that doesn't necessarily involve A7750 movements, there's a world of other watches other than chronos, thin dress watches, different dive watches other than Subs and DSSD / UPOs and SFSOs and frackin' Hublots B) How about Jandrew and some of the other dealers getting on the factories cases and telling them to produce some NOUVEAU HORLOGERIE items, such as some of the following, I mean some of these can't be that hard to rep, non-complicated movements and cases etc etc, some others are a bit more difficult, so, HOW ABOUT IT GUYS ? Aren 27 Posted June 6, 2011 A great move John. This is a great post with wonderful pictures. This good GT really had no business being in the bin. General Topic is amazing when it is filled with amazing photos like these. I also hope the dealers will look at some of these watches. If Baldrick thinks they can be repped, I have confidence they can be. There are so many watches here to enjoy. Thanks for posting this Baldrick. I hope some of these watches get the attention they deserve. I know it takes a lot of time to make a picture heavy post like this, so Thank you very, very much for sharing. powderfreak 0 Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks Baldrick, thanks John! The corum(s) are pure sex, the rest not so much... at least I don't miss reps of them. But as I said, the Corum... would take it in a second, especially the silver-black.
JohnG 41 Posted June 6, 2011 I still like the Jean Richard. And the first Corum. Never liked them before, too busy, but with the monochrome treatment I like...
Fiddo 0 Posted June 6, 2011 There are a few in there I like.....the second Favre and a couple of the GPs.
Aren 27 Posted June 6, 2011 In addition to the RG Chronoswiss, I also really like the PP... It is clean and fresh looking. Some of these watches look horologically simple and could probably be easily repped. I would love to see some new watches in our market place.
wat44 0 Posted June 6, 2011 ive got a Corum in-bound and wearing this recently:
Aren 27 Posted June 6, 2011 Beautiful Wat. I wish I could take a wrist shot like that. I have to try to hold the watch in my hand to try to get an angle without reflections, and it doesn't matter how much AR coating the watch has. Nice!
Rav747 0 Posted June 7, 2011 This is really, really nice. Any idea how big it is?
Balad1 0 Posted June 7, 2011 This is really, really nice. Any idea how big it is? Best I can research so far is 45mm, limited edition and $11K.
Silverspeed 10 Posted June 7, 2011 Some beautiful watches.....great (re)post, really like the RG Chopard A watch more well known that REALLY should be decently repped is the Tudor Heritage Chrono
Rav747 0 Posted June 7, 2011 This is really, really nice. Any idea how big it is? Best I can research so far is 45mm, limited edition and $11K. Thanks, Ted. And the Tudor Heritage Chrono is
JohnG 41 Posted June 7, 2011 And the Tudor Heritage Chrono is Yeah, me too. DW is selling that case/dial/hands set - all you need is a 7734 to stick in it...
SB56667 155 Posted June 7, 2011 Great post! I'd give anything for a halfway convincing version of that Breguet.
greg_r 83 Posted June 7, 2011 As I said in the last thread, there's lots of really nice stuff in there. I'd certainly be VERY tempted by that SS Corum Admiral's Cup if it were repped - much prefer it to the 'colourful' models.
Del 4,528 Posted June 7, 2011 To use a Mike McNair phrase, this is sick! (Did I get that right? :( I mean I like it. Lots. )
powderfreak 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Dunno if you should consider this as a real "yachttimer" but it's certainly one of the best looking (regatta-related) watches I have seen so far!
trailboss99 997 Posted June 7, 2011 Oh bugger! I wish I'd seen this before I went to the trounie of splitting the old one Any objection if I merge this with the sanitized original?
