dumluk 0 Posted June 7, 2011 HI all, another question... I've never held a Panerai Radiomir in my hands, so I need to know...are the straps sewn on, or can they be removed without destroying them? They sure look like they are permanently mounted. I know there are replacements with special screws.
houndoggie 58 Posted June 7, 2011 the wire lugs are shaped like L's and are held in by four screws, one for each lug. These screws strip easily, and getting the strap and lugs onto the watch can be sometimes a pain. The older vintage radiomir had soldered wire lugs, so straps were sewn on. dumluk 0 Posted June 7, 2011 Awesome. Thanks for clarifying, gents. I have a Zodiac that's sort of a loose Radiomir homage that does not allow strap removal without cutting. Glad to know I can have options with one of the reps.
