While getting a ring resized at my local jeweler, we get into watches and he says he has a bunch of movements if I want.

I take him up on the offer $200 for the lot.

Here's the loot I got: 33% broken, 33% have a little problem, 33% work fine.

Thank you @GenTLefor giving me the list to buy back in March

Any other suggestions on:

Cases | Crystal Window | Hands, crowns, stems, main springs etc

Should I just go ebay and buy piece by piece, invest in a lot, or is there a go to website you use?

Going to go through this sub forum now...

If you’ve got a working omega movement in there, that’s potential for a vintage Seamaster!! One on my bucket list for sure.

Hi mate smile.png

For cases it's a challenge as there are a bit of dimensions to take into consideration: crown/stem height, dial diameter etc... Plus since these are vintage probably they are small and therefore you'd need to build some movement retaining rings as well. And probably you also will need stem extenders and new crowns.

For hands/crowns I'd look at cousinsuk web site if you are in EU or Ofrei in the US. For cases I've no idea sincerely...

You need first to collect info on the movements to see diameter, stem height and so on, and see if they are comparable to something existing now (i.e. helenarou has cases that fits both 2824 and 6497/8 movements, if the measures are good also for some of yours).

Enjoy them smile.png
