I don’t know about Queensland but here in New South Wales they have cameras set up everywhere that peer through your windscreen and a computer algorithm to work out if you’re holding a phone and if the computer calls it you get a fine in the mail (and loss of points on your licence). I often vape in my car and am still waiting to have to defend myself in Court when the computer decides my vape mod is a phone. Then I’ve watched a kid driving past my house texting, looked up to realise he’s about to hit a parked car in his parents nice new car, emergency braked and missed it by a few centimetres, was literally as white as a ghost and shaking...then drove away whilst finishing his text. So you have to hold your phone really low down under the dashboard in the footwells when texting. Can't help the forward vision. Good to know for when I visit Aus, ta. I'm very anti texting tbh - I used to do it all the time, but there's no question it's an accident waiting to happen.
