Popperini 17,790 Posted September 14, 2020 I thought I'd quickly mention this, as it might be interesting to see whether anyone else has experienced it too. The most recent purchase I made from an EU member arrived with this sticker on it: I was surprised. But maybe it was because it came from Amsterdam, so they just assume it contains drugs..? Luckily it was just a vintage Tudor rep, so of little interest... I don't recall getting anything else from the EU to the UK with notification that it'd been checked. Is this an indicator that we really have left the EU now, and taste of things to come..?
deju 1,861 Posted September 14, 2020 Probably just looking for drugs. In our youth it was standard to send home birthday cards from Amsterdam, 2 out of 3 would turn up.

They probably intended to remove the caseback to see if it was stuffed with baggies of top quality heroin, but no one could find the sticky ball.
BadApple 13,081 Posted September 14, 2020 I have had Gate watches delivered to UK using Netherlands Post via Holland and it has had a warning sticker on. No inspection but the sticker says the contents contravene fair trade or something. Narikaas boxes from Thailand frequently keep UKBF entertained for an extra few days then get passed on.
