I do so love our former Yugoslavian and did so when they were supressed under the USSR. I went to Porec in 1984 on a holiday for 7 days and spent very little money as things were so inexpensive but was made to feel so welcome. Flew out of Manchester on a Yak cattle plane and despite the fact I was aircrew on RAF Victor K2 tanker at the time I shit myself as the USSR had a relaibility and build quality issue and I was unsure as if I would see Blighty again. We were formally behind iron curtain and in east Europe but only geographically. With YU passports you could easily travel around the world. And Tito was smart bastard trading with east and west. Perhaps things might end in different way if he did not sack my uncle (who did frankly respect him till death, less known fact) in '66, completely w/o basis. those were only Party fractions fights but ended bad for bunch of people.
