amuthon 0 Posted June 10, 2011 Fantastic watch Martin, we need more pics. Good way to build your watch from parts, I will never again buy a watch directly from a dealer. Enjoy that beauty!

Thanks alot Frank BUT in the end you don't save any money.. Maybe 40€ if you buy the parts instead of a NOS gen It was kind of a pain in the ass but it was quite exciting aswell.. Omega's quickset is really neat! You pull out the crown once in the position where you normally would set the hands.. Pull it once for one day + It winds and runs smooth if you consider the movement was built in 1968

solkryssare 109 Posted June 12, 2011 This is a 43 mm watch right? How would you say it wears Martin? Compared to your SD for example......
zig 0 Posted June 12, 2011 40mm I think, although the lip of the bezel protrudes a bit so that would add a mil or two. It's a great looking watch, I'm very jealous. Aren't the numbers on the bezel yellow on a gen?
powderfreak 0 Posted June 12, 2011 Aren't the numbers on the bezel yellow on a gen? Only if it's really old

Aren't the numbers on the bezel yellow on a gen? Im pretty sure its 43mm. This is a gen mate. The yellow you see on older gen's is the tritium changing colour over time. Aha I see, thanks solkryssare, didn't realise that about the colour change. I'm standing by my 40mm theory though :P Get yer ruler out mspangl! Also if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to put it all together? I got a rep version from MR, I love it and fancy upgrading to the real deal. mspangl 0 Posted June 13, 2011 This is a 43 mm watch right? How would you say it wears Martin? Compared to your SD for example...... The size is awesome.. It wears about the same size as my SD. 40mm I think, although the lip of the bezel protrudes a bit so that would add a mil or two. It's a great looking watch, I'm very jealous. Aren't the numbers on the bezel yellow on a gen? I can assure you that this is a gen mate. The bezel is white.. This is a newer caseset version of this watch. Reference number 166.0324 The older gen is covered with Tritium on the dial and the bezel. This one uses SuperLuminova
mspangl 0 Posted June 13, 2011 I almost forgot to mention how LHOOQ helped me at sourcing the parts.. Thanks M ! I got inspired by his franken Seamaster 300.. After the movement shot and a shot with the 1171 bracelet on I knew I GOTTA HAVE THIS After a quick look at Chrono24 - seeing prices above 3000€ - I decided to build a NOS Seamaster
