New Bella Blue Pela...

Recommended Posts

Del

Picked up a new Tudor Pelagos yesterday at a local AD. I’ve always liked the Pelagos and admired the blue version especially so I decided to try it on and see how I liked it, which I did - loads! It’s such a stunning watch and has a very impressive specification, as follows...

  • 42mm titanium and steel case with satin finish
  • Waterproof to 500m
  • Rotating titanium bezel with matt ceramic insert, fully lumed
  • Matt blue dial with white indexes and hands
  • Sapphire crystal
  • Titanium bracelet with folding steel clasp and bracelet extension system
  • Tudor in-house automatic movement Calibre MT5612 (COSC)
  • 70 hours power reserve
  • Titanium crown
  • Helium escape valve

The bracelet has screwed links and three micro-adjustments built into the folding clasp. Plus, the clasp can be moved into “expansion mode” which means the bracelet size can increase and decrease as your wrist expands and contracts with temperature. It also has a diver’s extension.

The lume on the dial and bezel is superb. Really, really bright and long lasting! And the blue on blue is stunning in person! Much brighter and a different shade to my blue TAG Autavia so I don’t feel like I’m doubling up on blue watches with blue bezel inserts on metal bracelets.

The watch also comes with a blue rubber strap that incorporates the titanium end links of the bracelet so this is a real bonus for changing the look entirely. There is even an extra (third) rubber diver’s extension piece too!

So, I’m very happy with the Pelagos, my 4th Tudor but not a Black Bay family member this time!

Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure...

I knew there was something special coming!!!!

Very nice indeed. I'd never sell my rep, a regular in my rotation, but that is the bee's knees!

Very nice :Applause: I  much prefer Pelagos over the ubiquitous Black Bay.

That blue lume is the best on the market, even better than gen Rolex/Omega imo. I will never understand why Pelagos is not the most popular among modern Tudors.

Looks great on your wrist:thumbsup2:

  I honestly didn’t have this in mind when I sold the Speedy but when I tried it on I was hooked!

Thanks mate! I think the Black Bay marketing is better - David Beckham never seems to wear a Pelagos!

Cheers mate! Yes, the clasp is incredible - you can easily move the micro adjustments without tools, as well as engage the expansion springs - very clever, and patented by Tudor.

That's a beauty. Superb photos aside, there is something about these gens that the reps just don't quite get. Great choice.

Very nice. Congratulations. Love that titanium sheen. Bracelet looks super chunky but presumably as its titanium it's very light on the wrist.

Certainly a much more modern looking alternative to the Speedy it replaces.

Thanks, and yes, there is that extra quality/finish (which you pay for I guess!).

Thanks! Yes, the watch is chunkier than I expected but feels relatively light (but not super light due, I assume, to the movement and steel clasp). It’s very easy to wear and is more “up my street” than the Speedy.

 That was the 1-minute glimpse of sun we got this afternoon between the horizontal rain showers! And I’m more West than Cardonald, which may or may not make a meteorological difference! :D

Sooo beautiful. I've been eyeing the Rep of this for a while and this is making me want to pull the trigger.

Did you have the rep of this before? If so what's the difference in feeling?

It's gorgeous. Congrats on your new joy machine :)

Enjoy the new Tudor Del.  What were you eyeing originally ? The blue 58 , P01 ... ? I am on the fence about the grey bronze to join the rest of the Tudor crew.  What I would really like is a 40mm Ranger with applied cardinals, a blue Milgauss color dial and the 58 movement.  Not going to happen of course !
