And this is why I tell every Noob that no rep Sub had the same feel as the gen. That innate glow just isn't there with a rep

Couldn’t agree more. And still there even after 29 years (1991 vintage)! :D

I think the innate glow is not the watch, but from within you with the knowledge its a gen not a rep. .....

That's partially true but I honestly don't think my Rolex reps (ARF V3 Hulk, TC FD Yachtmaster, JF Explorer I, DSSD James Cameron ARF v2 ) have the same physical presence as my gen GMT IIC. Obviously the closest to gen is the TC followed by the Explorer.  I sold a gen Explorer to fund a couple of Grand Seikos and the rep does the job but definitely lacks the lustre that gold markers bring to the dial.

I'm a big Luminox fan, especially because it's easy to find them on the cheap nowadays. Haven't seen this model before, is it older/discontinued? Very sharp!

Thanks. Yes it’s an older discontinued one. Probably 15 years old or so already.

Wow, given the tritium half life I'm guessing it's rather dim at this point? I have an 8 year old Colormark that is very dim already, but it's the nature of tritium tubes and it doesn't bother me much because I still love the aesthetics.

The wonderful H2O Kalmar II, Oceantime Special Edition 6000M.   Grade 5 titanium, with Swiss ETA 2892-A2 Top grade. .. (it winds like butter).  On the wrist it's a big watch but wears easy and very light with the Grade 5 titanium , has BGW9 SLN for lume.   Three and a half years down the line from purchase and a fair bit of wearing and winding . ...   and on the wrist has been consistent  . ..  the accuracy has been around +10 seconds a week.  Glows like a torch this one, right through the dark of the night :thumbsup2:.

+1
I have always observed with great interest the H2O watches ... really impressive divers with unusual aesthetics. But for 2000 euros, I would buy a nice Oris depth gauge ... another piece of prestige.4d39b75743c1718046febeefb276a3ca.jpg
