How much does a stripped crown cost to fix?

Recommended Posts

The watch in this case, is a VSF planet ocean with the clone movement... I just got a quote today at $300 to fix it. I'm thinking I'll email a td for a replacement crown/stem to hopefully lower the cost.... But what have you paid to fix something like this? I'm assuming he's using gen parts but on ofrei, stems don't even look that pricy. Is that just labor or am I getting screwed? It wouldn't cost much more to buy a new watch if that's the case.

On a side note, any1 in the bay area (CA) with a repair shop recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like a common issue - my Omega Tai Chi lost it's lockdown tube threads so Rolie has shortened the stem so it works but does not lock.

Mary did send out a crown but not the tube so you could try your TD but ask for both.

I stopped diving a few years back since the wife's menopause so water not a problem for me.
