Panerai Submersible 42mm - ZF factory

Recommended Posts

morris133

I've entered into new phase - Pam Obsession. I have no idea how this happened (daily wrist check might have something to do with it) but I'm loving the style of Panerai. While I love a big chunky watch I think the 44's might be my limit - who knows. Anyway I started with the Panerai submersible 42mm. Love the watch, Chunky, nice presence on the wrist, built like a tank, super comfortable.

The downside of this one from the ZF factory is it looses about 3-4 minutes a day. Additionally, the crystal isn't pressed on straight. I've contacted the TD (waiting to hear back) but I would like to just get it running well and the crystal pressed in correctly.

Since I am such a NOOB in the Pam world I'm looking for any guidance for repairs, repair person in the states.

Thanks for looking

I don't know any watchsmiths who would be prepared to help a plastic Manc from America.

Watch looks nice though!

Out of interest mate, does this have an open or closed caseback (ie can you see the movement)?

You could always try Katt.

This one has the open caseback. Thanks for suggesting Katt

Good news - the TD got back to me and has a repair person here in the states. Great customer service from the TD and I'll be sure to post a comprehensive review when all is resolved.

Sending off for fixes, fingers crossed.

I'll post the results.

The only grannystabbing linked to me is when your grandma has too much Babycham and begs for it up the shitter.

That’s lovely, and at 42mm very wearable

Might have to go on the list to keep an eye on via M2M....

Turn it upside down on the carpet and stand on it, should seat the crystal nicely.

At your own risk :)

Repair Update.

Finally after all this time I took a few pics of the PAM Sub after it was serviced. Service didn't take a year, just me and my inability to keep up. A bit of an ordeal to get the correct crystal gasket but all worked out in the end. Lovely watch, wears perfect on my 6 3/4 (17cm) wrist.

Definitely out of alignment. In fact the dial is the culprit which shifted a bit. Hoping it’s an easy fix to re-align the dial and tighten a bit better. New update post in another year.

Aim for 2024 -  seems more achievable.

Can I have the info on the repair guru? I have a PAN with a cracked Crystal. Trying to see if it can be replaced here in the states.
