Thinwrist 66 Posted January 9, 2021 Looking for opinions on what to hunt for next. I have two tags incoming because I’m a car guy and like them. Thinking maybe a Cartier? I tend to shop for reps that I would possibly buy gems of so nothing that goes over 15k in the used market.

The fit and feel and finish is great. It is a classy timeless simple design that I feel IWC executed perfectly. when I saw the one with the green dial and bracelet on it here I had to have it. I wanted a green dial watch but not a hulk. This fills my green spot perfectly. Now I just have to try not to buy a blue one to go with it..lol I was surprised by the bracelet design as I was not familiar with how IWC designed them. I have never felt a real IWC bracelet but the design is great in my opinion. I can't see the genuine being that mush better this one feels really good. I love how it comes apart and the adjust on the fly is something I now wish other bracelets had.

nuvolablue 2,051 Posted January 9, 2021 Nice collection but what's the one on the far left, first pic, not in the watch box? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk That is an Elgin from the thin thin line. Only all American designed and built full rotor automatics. I am a vintage watch guy. Have been for a long time. The reps are an outlet for me to enjoy modern luxury watches. I have a few of them. These are just Elgin 760 and 761’s having trouble adding a pic working on it Edited January 9, 2021 by Thinwrist

It is a speedmaster racing running a 7750. The gen runs a variation of a 7750 but has a Quick date button on the left side. The rep does not. Sets like a normal 7750. Otherwise is is a nice rep that I enjoy wearing. thanks.

Thinwrist 66 Posted January 9, 2021 (edited) thanks gingerferret. Ill be honest it took some time to get use to wearing watches over 36mm. my watches from the 1920's-1960's can be very small. many of them people assume are ladies watches. I don't care I wear them for me. I enjoy restoring and servicing them and bringing them back to life. I collect all different brands but American Elgins from the 20's-50's is where most of my collection is. Elgin made from entry level watches to top quality watches and things in between. They were the largest manufacture of American Jeweled watches. They made some amazing pieces. 3 hours ago, Pesman said: 10 minutes ago, TheGingerFerret said: Wow, I love the Gens more than the Reps! These two the most: You seem to really like that metal bracelet. they were made by Bradley in New York City. They are period correct originals. deju 1,874 Posted January 9, 2021 I feel you need an ap probably a 15202 so it’s thin, also and this is very left field but I see the BR and think a bvgari octo perhaps?

I’ll look at the bvgari. I don’t think I’d ever buy an ap so I don’t really look at them.
