I'm looking forward to seeing what watch your amazing strap gets attached to, @TanGo 838. It's a work of art - and because of that I just don't think my Ingersoll or Tudor bronzos would do it justice. They're not worthy.

Buddhabar 4,587 Posted January 31, 2021 That's bloody amazing! Could you share some details - the Cyrillic logo makes it hard to Google! Thanks a lot@Popperini.This mod pocket watch is in fact a Russian 3601 Molnija dating back to the 1960s. The lugs were made and welded on the original case. The photos explain better than any word.

I've seen a few of these pocket watches converted for the wrist - yours is a particularly lovely example. And of course it's the movement that's spawned a thousand rep vintage Panerai builds!

Yes friend Popperini ... the Molnija 3601 constructively mirrors the Cortebert caliber 616, which is the Rolex caliber mounted in the famous Panerai vintage. Today they are of great interest among those who make Panerai builds, because they are also available at low cost and are of good quality.

Can't see these being very common... Sent from my SM-G977B using Tapatalk @Pesman Yes you are correct! This watch was made by Crepas which is a Spanish company. They have made a number of cool homage watches to old divers. I only got into them a year ago or so. The quality is very good. Most recent projects are typically funded on Kickstarter and the prices increase after the kickstarter campaign is over. This particular Omega Banana Homage is very difficult to find. They rarely pop up for sale on the used market. Today I am wearing my Crepas Megamatic. This is Homage to the Omega Mechaquartz Prototype which never made it to production. Some people hate on the design of this watch but I personally really like it (beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose). It came with the option for the Plongeur Minute hand which mimics the Omega but I went with the skinny minute hand.
