Pesman 9,461 Posted June 3, 2021 Timpson is an agent for Rolex (I know - who'd have thunk it eh?) - you can take a Rolie to them to get it sent off for servicing, etc. That being the case, they won't touch a rep Rolie. Fortunately when I took Mrs. Pop's Sub caseback in to our local one to get it engraved for her birthday, I got away with it as it wasn't a "SHITINERAND" or "SWITZERLADN" version.As each Timpson is run by its owner, it really depends on individual branches. I got very friendly with the Theale outlet and he was happy to check them out for me and always complimentary of the quality. Well that'll teach me for taking my own experience and extrapolating it out to encompass the whole world! My local Timpson chap was very nice but during the conversation while he engraved my caseback told me that Timpson employees will not touch a rep Rolex. Both of my VSF 126610 reps came with case backs that were hand tightened. I didn't need any tools to open the case back, just my fingers. This was the case with MANY buyers over at RWI as well. Surprised the crap outta me. I have one of those fancy Rolex case back tools with all the various sized dies, so I was able to tighten them down correctly, but be careful.
