greg_r 83 Posted July 2, 2009 dammit, houndoggie... Yet another real beaut! ... it's getting more and more difficult to resist buying a watch. It's been, like, 3 months since my last one. Guess I need to start going to the meetings again, huh?

AustinTech 0 Posted July 3, 2009 Souds like AustinTech is also a Glock addict... Plastic gun... hum, normally the only piece of plastic admitted in a serious gun shop is the credit card. I do love my Glock. The barrel is Austrian steel...thats where the bullets start their journey toward
alphakazi 0 Posted July 3, 2009 Glocks are outstanding firearms - these plastic guns take a beating and keep on cycling - I've read about them firing over 200,000 rounds, it just keeps going - I can recall the liberal buffoons here in Canada making a big deal about them. They called them "all plastic guns" that would be the weapon of choice for terrorists.... this couldn't be further from the truth - 19ozs of steel can be picked up with any metal detection device - politicians are firearm retarded here in Canada - well, the liberals anyhow That's why some have registered staple guns, glue guns, etc. only to show them how stupid they are and what a waste of $ billions they've dumped into a new gun registry - have I registered my hunting rifles and shotguns? What a waste of my time... but seriously, the glock is a must have for any collection - been wanting one for a while (Glock 17 9mmx19) world wide plentiful ammo that has more than enough energy for what it's used for. Sigs are awesome as well if $ is no object but if I had to choose a handgun for pure reliability it would be a revolver, not a semi-auto. Of course, there are many other issues to consider : accuracy, weight, stopping power, durability, reliability, ergonomics, concealability, simplicity, accessories, price, track record, etc.. When you consider everything, the Glock could be the best handgun in the world - many will swear to that - I can't because I don't own one but have enjoyed using them. Not a military choice due to it's lack of second strike capability on misfired rounds - quality ammo virtually eliminates this issue though if weight means nothing, the 1911 is another fine example just my 2c - carry on gentlemen

greg_r 83 Posted July 3, 2009 Thanks, doggie. Would you believe that ROO is a quartz cheapie? I paid less than $100 for it last year (Lawrence) Gorgeous SOH! I really must get me one of those... back before I was broke I came REAL close to buying a gen (blue bezel/face on mesh) - talked myself out of it at the last minute... I don't think the gens are worth it... The rep is so good and with new AR and re lume is indistinguishable from gen at a much cheaper price. Quartz!!! That is a Quartz ROO... I must look into it.
