pop off sapphire crystal , gasket and bezel.  machine inside diameter of the bezel to fit the t21 clarks crystal.

press to fit.

Did you just purchase a bigger glass gasket and have it secured with pressure?

Also, did you consider using a crystal of correct size (that has the same characteristics as the t21?).

No

no gasket required.

T21 crystal fits perfectly on case.  the bezel that fits the sapphire crystal w./ gasket is smaller in diameter so you need to enlarge it to fit the acrylic crystal

I'll resume this to ask the question:

To enlarge the bezel you use machinery (like lathe f.e.) or you do it by hand using, don't know, maybe a Dremel with low/medium abrasive disc?

I made an explorer with a raffles case and swapped the glass as well.

I used a Sternkreuz XS 295.469 "Tropic 13" which I very easily and directly swapped over using the glass gasket that was already in place on the watch.

I'm not sure how acurate my easy version is compared to yours but it didn't require any mods. I really need to pressure test it as well to see if it stands up using this method.

I'd love the gilt version of this space dweller some day.

Interesting modification.    are you able to see the gasket?   I am not sure how this works exactly .   with the raffles cases that come with the sapphire  the gasket sits proud of the bezel and the crystal is on top of the gasket.  and the gasket fills the gap between the bezel and case so  if you didnt modify the bezel , how were you able to get it to fit. unless the crystal fits on the inside of the gasket??

the bezel isnt ideal for a 1016 but if you machine the base of it by .5mm its rather close.

your build looks good.  nice job on it and I admire your problem solving on this.

The gasket is mostly transparent, i don't think its visable on the finished product but to be sure I think i'd need to see them next to each other.

For mine, the acrylic is fitted exactally the same as the glass was, its compressed against the inside of the gasket which is squished inbetween the bezel. In the image below, you can see how I fit the acrylic (my claw tool wasn't good enough to compress it in place) and also how this gasket looked on the raffles case.

This was the first time or second time I played with swapping acrylic, I ordered a few knowing it would be trial and error.

What would something like this cost?  I'd be interested in a space dweller build.
