Leslie 62 Posted July 21, 2021 This is my Breguet 5177, MKS Factory V2 with Miyota 9015, which I want to regulate. I think this is a front/top loader, and I had taken the front bezel/crystal off: But now, I don’t know how to take the movement out of the case. Is the stem a two-piece split type? If so, I can pull it out by some long-nose pliers. But if the stem is not of the split type, I might break the stem by pliers! Please advise! Thanks in advance. BadApple 13,081 Posted July 21, 2021 POPCORN: Can I ask why you would prise open the front cover to get to the regulator which is under the back cover?? Asking for a friend. Also my friend asks why would you take a movement out of a watch just to regulate it. Also when you have bought a Skrippol cupboard from IKEA do you find you have loads of screws and bits of wood left over?? Do you always put Diesel in your petrol car? Leslie 62 Posted July 21, 2021 A top/front loader watch case usually has no back cover. So, the only way to take the movement out is by opening the watch from the front (the dial side).
NCRich 13,746 Posted July 21, 2021 God I hate top load watches. Split stems suck. I don't know how that is built but it certainly looks like a top load. GLWS
Leslie 62 Posted July 21, 2021 Thanks for your idea, my friend. I started to doubt about why it has to be a top load. I checked again if there is any slit showing the existence of a back cover, using a10x loupe. No, not a sign! But, I still gave it a try by prying the bottom of the fluted case band, using a flat-tip 1.2mm screwdriver. Whoops! It does have the snap-on back cover — there is no lip to pry up, just use one lug as the lever fulcrum to pry it up!
