1965 Tudor Oyster Royal

Recommended Posts

As 40 looms this year, the urge to buy a 'vintage' watch, grew on me, to the stage I was trawling the web daily, having settled on a Tudor.

I really love no date watches, and have a box full of 'loud' watches, so decided I was lacking a suit watch for work, particularly as returning to office looms, and I've shifted role to a bottom of management ladder role.

Having dug around, I settled on wanting a 60s Tudor for the cache of the caseback and crown, ideally boxed, papers didn't matter as i'm not thaaaat fussy.

This one came up on eBay, and I watched it relist week on week,  until I messaged the owner asking what it would take to make a deal. Deal done, then it landed!

I had it in my head that as much as it was nice on the strap, i'd like a bracelet as well, so bought a 19mm jubilee from Rafflesdials, as recommended here, which arrived earlier

I'm delighted with it, in the past week or two i've owned it, the time keeping has been perfect, having been serviced before the sale. I'm now swinging towards buying the odd few more old watches, and have a classic Breitling in mind,  It's added a new element to collecting :)
