judas9r 874 Posted September 11, 2021 I wanted to try a hydromod,@Philiusmaximus recommnded a Casio MRW. However I found a small ad for someone selling an AE1000 round the corner for £10, so I had that instead so I could try my hand at a colour mod and kill two birds with one stone. Firstly I did a colour mod with a red filter. Then I got to work on the hydro bit. I watched plenty of you tube and worked out a technique to do it with out a bubble. I took the pic while it was still a bit slimy because I was so excited. Worn it all day, no bubble, no leak. Yet.
Philiusmaximus 5,055 Posted September 11, 2021 Can you take a pic with watch at more of an angle to show the 3D effect? Well done
Aramis2288 6,126 Posted September 11, 2021 Really good job. Please post some more photos in different light conditions!
judas9r 874 Posted September 11, 2021 Hi @Philiusmaximus and @Aramis2288. It doesn't really do the hydromod hands thing at all, but the clarity is really good, it really pops. The red filter is also much more transparent through the oil, dial was unreadable before. I need to do a hand job if this one doesn't leak everywhere or get a bubble.

GingerApple 7,224 Posted September 12, 2021 Cool!!!!!!! Great job!!!!! Wait - oh no!!!! New crazy modding stuff that I'm going to have to try as well.!!!!!This is going to cost me a fortune, I'm going to kill millions of watches over this. For the love of Jesus, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!?! Don't let Poppadoodle see this thread - total recipe for disaster! The coolest Modded watches are those with domed crystals imo, they look amazing!
Aramis2288 6,126 Posted September 12, 2021 As far as I am aware, you cannot hydro mod a mechanical watch? I would love to see smth like this in a custom-made Seiko...

Aramis2288 6,126 Posted September 20, 2021 Btw, I was wondering whether it's possible to hydromod a watch with a mechaquartz chrono movement (e.g. Seiko seiko vk63 or similar)?
