Confirmation of ARF daytona

Recommended Posts

alilondon

Hi all

Not planning to post QC pics... But buying a ARF Daytona from TD (Hont) and need confirmation it is what he says it is.

Reason for doubt is he says it has working chrono but I have a few and know thats not correct!

Would that be OK here to get some help to confirm the model is what I think it should be?

To be clear I am not asking nit picks / QC comments etc.

Before I do wanted to check you're OK with that!

Cheers.

Did he say "working chrono" or fully functioning sub dials?

I've heard that ARF are on their way back with limited stock so if I TD says that it is ARF then it's a fair bet that it is

In his words "it working CHRONO"

Haha. Not sure hence asking the question here. 60 seconds will do me fine!

Will post the pic(s) shortly once I receive them!

Basically the way the ARF works is it’s a modified A7750 base with a modified slimmer main plate. Meaning the chronograph sub dials will not operate.

If you engage the chrono the big second hand (which is chrono) will go round and round. The sub dial will not register any minutes, it will always look like the chrono has ran for under 60 seconds

I'm afraid you can't post QC pics on here. Try RWI. There's probably no one on here who knows the answer anyway! Subdials look quite fat for ARF I'd say, but then again, I'm one of those people that knows nothing.

Actually, if they let the chrono run for 61 seconds, we'd know.

Cool, like @deju said, an ARF model will not register any minutes on the subdial.  So if it is ruin for 61 seconds, and it doesn't record a minute in the subdial, that would point toward ARF.

Aren't there other makers versions that also run like that? TRF for instance?

I’m not doing OP’s homework but he can see bracelet code and subdial pinions in the QC pics  he should research this

Bracelet code is correct arf.

Key for me therefore is making sure the watch head itself is too...

Subdials looked a bit fat...

So may be just photos if the chrono stacks up?

The dealer you are buying from is not a TD here, and you cannot get advice on QA pics here, regardless of the TD.

Good news... The minutes don't move as the chrono sweeps past 60 seconds.... Got a video through today!

Awesome news! You've narrowed it down to about 7 potential factories now.

If only Deju or someone had given you the answer already....

It has an AR sticker on it, if it is a trusted dealer then why ask the question? Do you go to Waitrose and ask them if the quality of eggs are better at Sainsbury?

So buy it, before the TD will cease to communicate as you clearly are one of those customers that are better to be customer of someone else ;)
