Very kind of you to say, it certainly has been a while. I’ll try and make a habit of popping in with gen pics every now and again DC

What's not to love about an oil filled dive watch? Exactly. You can use it to fry the fish after catching them with the UX on your wrist. It's a perfect watch, I'm telling you

_DC_ 218 Posted December 31, 2021 @FunnyStarSystem Having discussed patina let’s go to the other end of the spectrum. Here’s my Aristo Clamshell Chronograph, circa 1960, in untouched condition (but for the case back which we will come back to shortly) but with just a tiny hint of patina to reassure its originality. This one is 35mm, and looks perfect on this Bulang & Sons vintage style beads of rice bracelet. The only “upgrade” this watch has had in its life is the addition of a display caseback through which to enjoy the Valjoux 23 beating away inside… and I think you’ll agree it was a worthwhile addition, it would be a shame for this to go unseen… DC
FunnyStarSystem 7,537 Posted January 1, 2022 Stunning @_DC_ I love old dials with "Incabloc" and "antimagnetic", it reminds you these come from an era when there was no quartz, no radio atomic thingamajiggies, no accurate to the millisecond time apps. People needed these wheels, cogs and levers to live back then. Did you commission the display caseback or a previous owner? I have a few watches I'd like to get one for, but they're hard to find for anything other than the usual suspects.
