Here I stand at the crest of the Seiko rabbit hole…

Fellas, I hope you all had a wucking fonderful festive season.

My wife & I are expecting a baby in April and I’ve long feared that this would lead me down a path of having to be less frivolous with my excessive spending on various hobbies, watches, cars, airplanes etc. Rightly so, little ones need shit and that’s more important. I have however been considering some mighty nice and very cost effective Seiko pieces that obviously won’t break the bank.

Of course, I’ll just have to modify them because who could own something so commonly modified and not? That’d be like owning a Subaru and leaving it alone…

Anyway, I have 2 on the way:

SNK381K1, because it just seems so handy. Might need a red seconds hand installed right off the bat, maybe a decent leather/nylon strap.

Also SNK805K2, green is stunning, I enjoy the flieger-esque design, needs black day/date wheels imo but we’ll see.

Your opinions always valued, thanks for being like the support group my card balances need. Watch this space, pun intended.

I got mine at Kohls dot com, they were on sale and I signed up for their CC to get 35% off, plus you'll get Kohls cash to use on the little one. Win-win!

If you can afford airplanes (plural), you can deffo afford a few nappies on top without having to quit all your hobbies!!!!

Many many congratulations by the way.

On the airplanes I mean - not on the kids. Kids are fucking horrendous. Don't know what you were thinking.

Chere’s! I reckon I’m mad too but aren’t we all?

When I say airplanes, I mean borrowing one (at a premium of course) and flying round and round in circles. Because let’s face it, the best part of flying is take off and landing.

How about a Heimdallr with a seiko dial mod. Best of everything. It's a rep, of a Seiko, with a Seiko movment. What's not to like?!. Failing that, any Seiko snk80X gets my vote.

Definitely a fan of the Seiko 5. Picked up two last month.
